VILLAGE STAYS

Introducing HUSK's new accommodation project in the village! Designed primarily for school groups, our facility will also welcome small private bookings, creating a space for learning and connection. This initiative is an exciting step towards sustainability, as all proceeds will be reinvested to support HUSK's ongoing projects. Join us in making a positive impact while a comfortable stay!

Scope of the Project

Our Accommodation Project will unfold in two identical phases. Each phase will feature four dormitory rooms, each accommodating eight people as well as four single rooms for teachers or leaders, all equipped with private bathrooms.  The teachers' rooms will be more upscale, allowing us the option to offer them as accommodation for tourists later on in the project.   Our goal is to complete Phase 1 by mid 2025, the second phase, mirroring the first, has an expected completion date of late 2026.

HUSK currently averages around 25 groups each year, from our research we believe over 80% will be interested to stay around 3 nights in the village.  This project will will create jobs within the community and most importantly generate revenue for HUSK.   Initial groups will contribute to the construction and donate to the project, with a total budget of $50,000 USD.  More than 50% of this will be funded through school group donations and revenue from these groups  and the balance we will fundraise from other donors.

In the long term, we envision this project providing an additional space for secondary students to gain workplace training, helping them acquire skills for employment in the hospitality industry in Siem Reap.

Our bottle bricks will once again feature heavily in the construction of this project.
